セカンドをさらに深化＆硬化させた感じ。

パワフルなミドルテンポのリズムに複雑にリフを乗せて絡めていく。その方法論自体は前作でいうところのbrian storm やbalacalavaとほぼ同じ。ただし前作よりさらにヘビーでストイック。すごい。

彼らってやっぱり、“バンド力”が結局全てなんだよねー。

好き嫌いは分かれるんじゃないかな。セカンドでついていけなかった人はもう完全おいてきぼりなのでは…。

そもそも彼らはもともと売れそうもないような音楽をやって、なんか売れてしまった珍種。本来なら耳にすることのない人の耳にまで届いているのだから、意見が分かれるのもある意味当然か

セカンドで好きじゃなかった人は聴かなくてもいんじゃないかな。

Favourite Worst Nightmare

個人的にはオアシスが普通のバンドになってしまい、リバティーンズが解散したＵＫロックの中で一番待っていたバンド。
旬のバンドの旬の勢いがたっぷり詰まったセカンド作。
曲間を空けずにガンガンかっ飛ばす前半は超気持ちいいし、じっくり聴かせる中盤からラスト
まで、緩急のある展開で飽きずに聴き通せる長さもちょうどイイ感じ。
アラン・モウルダーなどによるミックスも音の分離がとても良く、ハードロックの爽快感とパンクの疾走感を
同時に楽しめる。

今年の夏を思い出させる一枚になりそうです！

Whatever People Say I Am Thats What I Am Not

このアルバムを聞いてたしかにカッコイイなとは思った。音も自分には合っている。

でも、何か足りない気がした。
この音楽に出会ったという「驚き」が足りない。

比較するつもりはないが、自分にとってストロークスやリバティーンズを知ったときに受けた「衝撃」のようなものを感じなかった。
どうにも二番三番煎じ感がいなめない。

買って損はしない一枚。でも驚きも少ない一枚。

ファンの付き方的にもメディアの取り上げ方的にも

2003年のマンドゥ・ディアオ
2004年のフランツフェルディナンド

に似ているとも思った。

前からほしいと思っていたのでうれしいです。どの曲もいいのでCDのほうも聞いてみ！

スカミー・マン [DVD]

名曲「When the sun goes down」の世界観が描かれた、短編映画。
内容は一回観ただけではイマイチ掴めません。
しかし、この曲が気に入った方には観てもらいたい作品です。
